Instance Groups – Google Cloud’s VM management service.
Google Cloud Instance Groups manage collections of VM instances as a single entity. They support both managed and unmanaged configurations, automatic scaling based on load or custom metrics, and rolling updates for zero-downtime deployments. The service features integration with Cloud Load Balancing, supports multiple zones for high availability, and enables instance template versioning. Instance Groups include auto-healing capabilities, regional deployment options, and detailed monitoring through Cloud Monitoring. It supports both stateless and stateful workloads with different management capabilities.
