ExpressRoute – Azure’s dedicated network connection service.
Azure ExpressRoute enables private, dedicated network connections to Microsoft Azure, bypassing the public internet. It supports layer 2 and layer 3 connectivity, multiple peering options (private, Microsoft, public), and dynamic routing through BGP. ExpressRoute features redundant connections for high availability, supports encryption over ExpressRoute Direct, and enables Global Reach for connecting on-premises networks. The service includes bandwidth on demand, monitoring through Network Performance Monitor, and integration with Azure Virtual WAN.
